Welcome to the jungle!

AFV NEWS is a pure scale modelling news blog. It’s aim is to keep readers up to date on the latest news on the kit modelling world and our target is to cover all news regarding the major modelling scales: 1/35, 1/48 and 1/72. We will also keep track on modelling guides and related publications.

This site has no relation with Mr George Bradford’s site (www.afvnews.org) or with AFV Modeller Magazine. AFV News was the logic and simplest name for an AFV scale model NEWS site, on my mind. What do you find on this site? Scale Model AFV News. So we apologize if this caused some confusion. We have the maximum respect for the above persons for their professionalism , for their commitment and in the case we invite you to redirect to their home pages at http://www.afvnews.org or to http://www.afvmodeller.com .

While writing these words today (12 March 2010), we have reached a new milestone we have had 1001 posts written since the opening (10 June 2009) of this site. We are also proud about our growing visitors base, probably this month it will be close to 20.000/22.000+ unique visits. A very nice result if we consider that this site is just 9 months old.

This makes us happy because it means that the hours we spend every day are appreciated. Numbers apart I wish to express my gratitude and thanks to every person that is supporting this project. Readers with their e-mails and suggestions. Manufacturers and Producers that regularly keep us up to date on their activities. Sponsors that helped to pay out server hosting and connectivity services!
Thanks to them, since February, we are running on a faster server and we have a real 99% uptime. Apart this aspect AFV NEWS is a non-profit blog and it’s run just for fun. And for fun we have also started a Forum section…

Due to the new server hosting I have managed to put again online the old forum platform ( SimplePress ) that integrates at 100% with Word Press. Now it seems to run quite well, I just suggest uploading photos locally in this server, otherwise the software will slow-down for some strange reasons.

We have mirrored the site to push news in real time on Facebook and Twitter too, and we are working on other solutions and projects. Stay tuned for updates.

Now, for those that are curious (and there are) about who the hell is ‘admin’ . Well, my name is Franco Scozzari, ex. AFV Centauro pilot , mediocre modeller and Project Manager in real life. I have also been for many years editor and main-editor for leading magazines ( Showtime ) into the Demo Scene World. And at present member of Ram Jam and Scoopex .
