Eduard 36 169 Rushes II – Review
Today we are reviewing a very particular product: a pre-painted Photo-Etched plant. We are talking about Eduard’s Rushes set # 36.169 .
Rushes are grass like plants that grow on infertile soils all over the world. The leaves usually are evergreen . This plant prefers sunny locations and can also grow on the edge of a water source, lake or river, salty or not. Most of them have an excellent resistance to cold and spreads very easily.
This already tells us that we can cover all possible operating theaters for our dioramas.
Moreover if we want to adapt better a plant to your diorama Eduard produces other variants and species, so you can have a selection to choose at.
Eduard’s set contains ten double Rushes , one side with a fluffy head, the other with out.
Instructions are not clear if you have to bend them to obtain more leaves or actually they are 20 pieces. Personally I would opt for the 20 pieces so to have a larger field.
Disconnecting the reeds is very simple as to fold the leaves in a natural way. Just need a modelling knife and two tweezers. Nothing else! The color and texture of the leaves is natural, as part of the flower at the top, definitely do not need any further painting , except to give it a natural posture.
As we can see Rushes plants adapt themself quite well to any theater of operations, and integrates seamlessly with the surrounding environment. Really a great product, only to improve a little bit instructions with some extra details and some botanical notes about the product.
thanks to Eduard for the review copy.
