The German Army 3t Opel Blitz 4×2 cargo truck was especially modified to carry the Flak 38 cannon,  a weapon that was equally at home targeting low-flying aircrafts or enemy vehicles and troops on the ground.

To mount the famous 2cm cannon in the existing cargo bed, a special platform had to be created on the original truck.
The mount was carefully researched and measured using historical photographs so that it could be  accurately represented on this 1/35 scale model. The spacing of the wooden planks on the original mount has thus been replicated precisely.
Most of the gun platform is made from plastic because thwy would have ended up too thick. Metal provides that necessary look of authenticity, with the characteristic twist to the steel braces also furnished.
