Here we are with a brief review of Military Modelcraft International May2011 Issue.
Without spoilering and writing too much about it’s contents I would like to give evidence on the hottests topics, on our viewpoint of course.
First of all a seek at the ‘News At the Front‘ rubric , just to be sure to verify that AFV-News hasn’t missed any release or any new producer just entering the market. This is something we do with all magazines we receive. And we are pretty sure that paper editors do the same here
.
What AFV-News did like:
Josè Luis Lopez with his 1/48 JagdTiger has just done something much different from the previous issue with his old school Tiger. The JagdTiger, is an “in the factory” tank, primered in red with workers marks and quotes. Nice work with a nice mixing of techiniques.
If you are planning to build an Sd.Kfz 251/9 Kanonewagen, then this issue will help with a an interesting article by Thomas Anderson. Nince camouflage schemes are provided and a dozen of operative photos. Beside that the article manages only with the historical, techincal and operative facts. No scale model hints or guides. But non the less is an interesting reading.
But if you are really interested into the Sd.Kfz/9 kit model version you can still enjoy Roger Hurkmans job, whom has been selected for the main cover art, and this is a guarantee.
Changing flag from German to British we can find a nice Bofors Crusader conversion done by Steve Noble.
Meanwhile AFV-NEWS has also received June’s Issue and at the first look it seems to have much more interesting contents… but wait next week-end for our opinion.
