Inside The Armour: Churchill 3in Gun Carrier conversion set.

An exterior conversion to convert either the AFV Club MkIII Churchill (35153) the MkIII AVRE (35167) or the MkIV (35154) into the rarer 3in (20cwt) Gun Carrier

The Gun Carrier was an experimental solution to mounting a gun large enough to penetrate the armour of any German tank on the heavily armoured Churchill chassis to meet the threat of invasion. 400 were ordered but only around 50 were manufactured.

Although a small number were issued for training the Gun Carrier never saw action and nearly all were subsequently converted to other tasks

The kit includes:
1. Full single piece superstructure
2. Seperate gunners sight
3. seperate internal mantlet
4. Four all new sections of track guard to accurately reproduce the guards unique to the 3ion Gun Carrier
5. A turned brass 3in Gun barrel
6. Resin Auxilliary fuel tank
7. Comprehensive etched sheet featuring over 60 etched brass parts, including engine grills, hatch handles, workable hinges, stowage bins and a wide range of other parts
8. Decals for three different Gun Carriers
