Masterpiece Models: Nissen Hut
This building is called a “Nissen hut,” named after Canadian engineer Lt. Col. Peter N. Nissen, who designed them in World War I. Despite being muddy, leaky and cold, they were cheap, quickly built and versatile.
These simple structures made functional homes, recreation spots and offices for thousands of soldiers and airmen in WWII.
